Return Policy – Warranty

RETURNS, REPLACEMENTS & CANCELED ORDERS

CANCELED ORDERS PRIOR TO SHIPMENT

ANY Orders Changed, Canceled or Refunded prior to shipment will incur a 2.9% Fee + $.30. PayPal will no longer return processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) when we refund a customer. These fees are for the processing of the original payment.

ITEMS ON SALE

ALL Sales on items that are on sale are final. We do not take returns on any discounted sales items or items that used coupon codes for discounts.

RETURNS REQUIRE A RMA NUMBER TO BE PROCESSED

Please contact us for your RMA number before returning your item(s). All returned items must be in completely unopened, new and unused condition. We are unable to accept returns on an item that is used or the items packaging has been damaged or altered.

BUILT TO ORDER ITEMS

We take great pride in building your order exactly to your specifications and our process starts as soon as an order is placed. For this reason we have the following policies:

Items that are “Built to Order” will incur a 25% cancellation fee if order is canceled 24 hours after ordered.  Items that are “Built to Order” will incur a 50% cancellation fee if order is canceled 48 hours after ordered. You will also be charged 2.9% Fee +.$30 for the payment processing fees.

Items that are “built to order” are non refundable after 72 hours order is placed.

UNUSED ITEMS

We will issue a RMA on any unused and unopened (still in protective wrap) items 15 days from the delivery date.  Product must NOT be removed from it protective wrapping. Plumbing parts are not eligible for return.  Customers wishing to make a return must contact us for an RMA (see above) within 15 days from the delivery date. Customers are responsible for the return shipping cost back to Synergy Reef’s warehouse. SynergyReef.com does charge a 20% restocking fee + If FREE SHIPPING or Flat Rate shipping was included, actual shipping cost (not discounted) will also be deducted from the final refund. Refunds are given after goods arrive at our warehouse in their original unopened and unused condition. Under no circumstances are opened or used products accepted for return unless special arrangements have been made prior and RMA is issued. Opened and used products will be refused and returned to the sender, even if RMA is issued. It is the customers responsibility to not send opened, damaged or used items.

ITEMS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT

If an item is damaged in transit, we will replace the item free of charge (after shipping claim is paid from shipping company) and cover the cost of shipping the replacement if the following procedure is followed.

If you see unusual damage to the external shipping boxing, please open the package and inspect items for damage immediately upon arrival. If the product is sealed in plastic wrap, contact us prior to opening the seal to avoid voiding our return policy. Please keep the damaged product and packaging, as UPS may inspect the package to evaluate it for insurance purposes. If your product arrives damaged, you must contact us within 24 hrs from arrival date or we cannot file a claim on your behalf. Emailing us pictures of the damage is MANDATORY within 48 hours of receipt.

SHIPPING COST DEDUCTION FOR ORDERS SHIPPED WITH A FREE SHIPPING/FLAT RATE PROMOTION

If your order was placed under a free shipping or Flat Rate, the original shipping cost for that item will be deducted from your refund. You will also be charged 2.9% Fee +.$30 for the payment processing fees.

TROUBLESHOOTING/INSTALLATION

If you are having a technical issue with one of our products, we do offer basic troubleshooting. This is limited to basic functionality of the product. We DO NOT offer consultation or installation services.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state or country to country.

Nonfunctional Items and Warranties

It’s important to us that our products reflect quality and durability. We work hard to design and manufacture products that are sustainable, and that components can be replaced without discarding the whole product. We want you to own our products for life!

If your product does not function correctly or is otherwise considered broken, we will troubleshoot the technical issues to help solve problems. We only provide diagnosis of non functional items and not Installation assistance as mentioned in our “Troubleshooting” section. Please use the Contact Us page and include your order # or your account information. If you do not provide this information, this can delay a response from us.

LIMITED WARRANTY

Synergy Reef Systems makes no claim to the suitability of this product for any specific use. The end user is solely responsible for determining fitness for a particular use, and for installation. This product is sold as a component of a custom aquarium installation.

Our Products are warranted to be free of manufacture defects for a period of 6 Months from date of purchase. We will, at our discretion, repair or replace your product at no charge during this period. Some items may need to be returned to Synergy Reef Systems for repairs, at the discretion of Synergy Reef Systems. Return shipping to Synergy Reef Systems is the responsibility of the purchaser. This warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, improper care or alteration, or acts of God, such as floods and earthquakes. Coverage terminates if the original purchaser sells or otherwise transfers the product. Purchaser must provide sales receipt from authorized dealer. This warranty excludes claims for incidental or consequential damages, loss of revenue or profits, loss of business, or other financial loss in connection with the warranty problem.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state or country to country.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Read this entire Limited Warranty before purchasing, installing, or using this product. By purchasing, installing, or using this product, you are acknowledging that this Limited Warranty is part of the sale terms.
COVERED PRODUCTS. This Limited Warranty applies to all SYNERGY REEF OVERFLOWS, SUMPS, & Auto Top Off Containers (hereinafter referred to as the “Covered Products”). SYNERGY REEF makes the following express limited warranties for the Covered Products purchased and installed within the United States, subject to the conditions and limitations stated below.
These limited warranties are the exclusive warranties for the Covered Products. SYNERGY REEF disclaims all warranties, express or implied, for other products.
LIMITED WARRANTIES. SYNERGY REEF warrants to the Buyer that the Covered Products shall be free of manufacturing defects in material or workmanship that significantly impair their proper use or function of the Covered Products subject to the conditions of this Section. SYNERGY REEF disclaims all warranties, express or
implied, to subsequent purchasers or users. If the Buyer gives SYNERGY REEF notice as required below of a defect in materials or workmanship, SYNERGY REEF shall, at its sole option: (1) repair or replace the defective products; or (2) refund the original purchase price. SYNERGY REEF shall pay all associated labor costs for repairs or replacements if Buyer gives proper notice as required below within 3 months from date of purchase. SYNERGY REEF may, in its sole discretion, pay some or all of the labor costs for repairs or replacement for claims made after 3 months from date of purchase. Replacement products may not exactly match replaced products.
Buyer is responsible for shipping of product back to SYNERGY REEF for warranty repairs. SYNERGY REEF will cover shipping costs of the repaired or replaced item(s) back to the buyer.
WHAT THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER. SYNERGY REEF is not responsible for and makes no warranties as to the following: 1) product failures or damages due to normal wear and tear, exposure to excessive heat or moisture, corrosive chemicals or substances, improper installation, defects or conditions of the existing
structure, misuse, abuse, modifications, and alterations; and 2) minor imperfections that do not affect the Covered Product’s structural integrity or use.
DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES. Neither SYNERGY REEF, nor its authorized dealers, make any other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In the event this disclaimer is deemed limited or ineffective, the terms and limitations of any
implied warranties shall be the same as the express limited warranties contained herein.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. This Limited Warranty sets forth SYNERGY REEF’s maximum liability for Covered Products. IN NO EVENT SHALL SYNERGY REEF OR ITS AUTHORIZED DEALERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THE SALE, INSTALLATION, OR USE OF ANY COVERED PRODUCTS INCLUDING DAMAGE TO YOUR RESIDENCE, FURNITURE OR ANY AQUARIUM INHABITANTS. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. If SYNERGY REEF provides any of the remedies identified above (i.e. repair, replace, or return of the original purchase price), then Buyer agrees that this limitation of remedy shall not have failed the essential purpose of the Limited Warranty. IN NO CASE SHALL SYNERGY REEF’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THECOVERED PRODUCTS. IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DO NOT USE THE COVERED PRODUCT.
NOTICE OF CLAIM. Buyer shall promptly notify SYNERGY REEF of any claim under this Limited Warranty. SYNERGY REEF reserves the right to deny any claims made by the Buyer more than 6 months after any defect or other basis of a claim covered by this Limited Warranty is discovered by the Buyer or should have been discovered
by the Buyer.
CLAIM PROCEDURE. You should make claims under this Limited Warranty in writing to SYNERGY REEF via email to [email protected]. Claims to SYNERGY REEF should include the following information: (1) the claimant’s name, address, and telephone number; (2) the installation address; (3) the product purchased and description,
purchase price, and the date and location of purchase; (4) copy of the sales invoice or receipt; (5) a description of your product concerns (you may include photos); and (6) a brief summary of the attempts you made to address the concerns. SYNERGY REEF reserves the right to charge a fee for on-site product inspections.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This Limited Warranty, and all of the terms and limitations contained herein, constitutes the entire agreement between SYNERGY REEF and the Buyer. By purchasing, installing, or using the Covered Products, Buyer is not relying on any oral statements made by anyone, including its authorized dealers, which are in any way
different or contrary to the terms and limitations of this Limited Warranty. By purchasing, installing, or using any of the Covered Products, Buyer acknowledges that authorized dealerships are not agents of SYNERGY REEF and any statements or representations made by authorized dealerships and their employees are not attributable to SYNERGY REEF.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusions may not apply to you. SYNERGY REEF’S warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, excluding its conflict of laws principles and excluding the provisions of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
